FAQ

Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about Social Security, retirement planning, disability benefits, and pension security.

When should I start taking Social Security?

The optimal claiming age depends on your health, financial needs, marital status, and other income sources. Each year you delay past your Full Retirement Age (up to 70) adds 8% to your benefit.

How long does disability approval take?

Initial applications typically take 3-6 months. If denied and you appeal to the ALJ hearing level, the total process can take 12-24 months. Some conditions qualify for Compassionate Allowances, which can be approved in as little as 10 days.
